Abstract: PURPOSE: A cosmetic composition with silk protein having excellent absorption properties, water vapor barrier properties, air permeability, etc. is provided which is excellent in product stability and long-term stability as well as a moisturizing effect and gives a natural, non-sticky feel during use. CONSTITUTION: The cosmetic composition contains 0.5 to 10.0% by weight of silk protein. The silk protein is low molecular silk protein obtained by removing soluble sericin, dissolving with a neutral salt and then hydrolyzing polymeric silk protein with protease such as actinase and/or neutrase after removing the salt. The composition is formulated into toilet soap, skin lotion, lotion, cream, pearl-off pack or bathing agent.
