Abstract:
PURPOSE: A method of preparing dried pear snacks is provided to improve functions of snack using peer which is beneficial for enhancing throat health, and to maintain a flavor, taste, and a color of the peer in the snacks. CONSTITUTION: A method of preparing dried pear snacks includes the following steps: dipping cut peer in a polyphosphate solution; applying ginger powder on the dipped peer; and drying the peer with hot wind. The pH of polyphosphate is 0.3~0.5%. The peer is dipped in the polyphosphate solution for 3 ~ 5 hours. A drying process of the peer is performed for 12 ~ 24 hours.

The extract contains active ingredient for treating impotency, and is thus used as a material for manufacturing medicines. CONSTITUTION: The method for manufacturing the extract of male pupae and adults of silkworm is characterized by selecting male pupae and adults of silkworm using a silkworm kind of which gender can be distinguishable by colors, patterns or the like. The pharmaceutical composition characteristically contains an effective amount of the extract.

PURPOSE: Provided is an antidiabetic drink composition containing silkworm extract capable of dropping the blood sugar level, which can prevent diabetes and remedy complications caused thereby. CONSTITUTION: The composition is prepared by the steps of: (i) lyophilizing silkworm in the third instar and 3days and extracting the freeze-dried silkworm with methanol; (ii) vacuum concentrating the silkworm extract and relyophilizing the concentrate of silkworm; (iii) adding 0.001-1.0wt% of ginger extract and 0.001-2.50wt% of cinnamon extract to 0.01-15.0wt% of the resulting silkworm extract where physiological activity is well preserved to refine the offensive smell; (iv) adding 0.001-1.0wt% of citric acid and vitamin C as a taste reinforcing agent and 0.01-10.0wt% of taurine as an antifatigue agent to the silkworm extract; and then (v) centrifuging the mixed silkworm extract for 10min. and separating the supernatant from the centrifuged silkworm extract.
