Abstract: According to various embodiments of the present invention, the present invention may include a light output unit that outputs a pre-determined optical signal; a light detection unit that controls a resistance value in accordance with the intensity of illumination by ambient light and detects reflected light when the output optical signal is reflected by an object; and a signal processing unit that receives a reflected light signal which is detected by the light detection unit and calculates the size and phase of the reflected light signal. Also, a variety of other embodiments are possible.

Abstract: A method and a system for processing an image for lane recognition are provided to check lane extraction, curvature estimation, and positional relations between lanes and vehicles even in various road environments, thereby previously estimating the lane departure time and reducing the wrong alarm. An image is received during driving, and lane candidates are extracted(220). A histogram for the extracted lane candidates is generated to determine a position of a short-distance lane(240). Curvatures of long-distance lane candidates are calculated based on a curvature of the short-distance lane(250). A lane is recognized by comparing the curvature of the short-distance lane with the curvatures of the long-distance lane candidates(260).
