Abstract: A method for preprocessing contents and a content providing apparatus employing the method are provided to ensure fast execution of contents by predicting contents to be selected by a user and separately managing frequently selected contents. A method for preprocessing contents comprises the steps of: displaying a list of contents including content items(S510); determining the time one content item in the list is selected by a user input signal(S520); and performing preprocessing for execution of the contents based on the determined time(S530).
