Abstract: A method for sensing leakage of a refrigerant of an air conditioner is provided to sense leakage of the refrigerant accurately by checking temperature of the refrigerant of an indoor heat exchanger, temperature of sucked air of an indoor unit, temperature of a suction port of a compressor, temperature of sucked air of an outdoor device, and opening degree of an EEV and comparing the data to a set data of a control unit. A method for sensing leakage of a refrigerant of an air conditioner comprises the steps: measuring temperature of an indoor heat exchanger and an indoor unit using first and second temperature sensors and comparing temperature difference of the indoor heat exchanger and the indoor unit to a first set data(S140); checking opening degree of an electronic expansion valve if temperature difference is less than the first set data(S150); and comparing the opening degree with a second set data and judging the refrigerant leakage in accordance with the result(S160).
