Abstract: PURPOSE: A wireless power receiver and a control method thereof prevent the degradation of efficiency generated in a converting process by not performing the converting process when a voltage of an output terminal of a rectifier unit is less than an allowable voltage of a charging unit. CONSTITUTION: A wireless power receiver (200) includes a power receiving unit (210), a rectifier unit (220), a converter unit (230), a switch unit (240), a charging unit (250), and a control unit (260). The power receiving unit receives wireless power. The rectifier unit outputs DC wireless power by rectifying the received wireless power. The control unit determines whether or not a voltage of the rectified wireless power is more than an allowable voltage of the charging unit. When the voltage of the rectified wireless power is more than the allowable voltage of the charging unit, the control unit controls the converter unit to convert the rectified wireless power into a predetermined voltage and output the same to the charging unit. When the voltage of the rectified wireless power is less than the allowable voltage of the charging unit, the control unit controls the switch unit to directly output the rectified wireless power to the charging unit.
