Abstract: A method for authenticating a contents request of a contents reproducing device in a contents server is provided to perform authentication without previously fixing an encryption method used for the authentication by using the encryption/decryption method determined from the contents server in case that the contents reproducing device loading contents from a disk and the Internet requests the contents to the contents server on the Internet.
