Abstract:
PURPOSE: A broadcast receiver and a driving method thereof are provided to prevent detail preference information needing privacy protection from being transmitted to a broadcast station. CONSTITUTION: A storage(140) stores preference information about a broadcast service offered from a broadcast station(200). A broadcast interface unit(110) restrictively transmits the preference information to the broadcast station. A controller(160) receives a menu, which is generated based on the limited preference information, from the broadcast station. The controller displays the limited preference information on a corresponding menu screen. Information included in the broadcast service is classified into a plurality of layers and categories.

An apparatus and a method for receiving digital contents are provided to equip plural HDCP(High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection) authentication unit corresponding to the number of plural input ports to reduce time spent on authentication, thereby reducing a waiting time for authentication for each input signal and enabling the quick conversion of the input signals. Plural receiving units(110,120) receive recognition information and date from each of plural transmitting devices. Plural authentication units(210,220) generate authentication keys using the recognition information received through the plural receiving units. A decoding unit(600) decodes one of the data received through the plural receiving units using one of the authentication keys generated through the plural authentication units. A switching unit(400) switches plural TMDS(Transition Minimized Differential Signaling) received through the receiving units.

A method and an apparatus for selecting an interface of an external device are provided to list up the user's desired devices preferentially among many devices connected with an image device. An interface state when external devices are connected is confirmed(S204). According to the interface state, the characteristics of the external devices are searched(S206). Interface lists by characteristics are offered(S210). A process for discriminating whether an arbitrary external device among the interface lists is selected is performed(S212). The selected external device is displayed(S214). In the search process of the characteristics of external devices, a menu is offered so that the characteristics of the external devices are edited. The interface list is displayed according to the physical connection order of the external devices. The information from the external devices is obtained by communication devices connected with the external devices.

본 고안은 전기 및 전자기기의 입출력 연결단자에 관한 것으로, 더욱 상세하게는 음성 및 영상신호는 종래의 입출력단자와 호환성을 가지면서도 새로운 멀티미디어 통신을 할 수 있는 RCA잭에 관한 것이다. 복수개의 전기전자기기에 접속되어 멀티미디어신호를 입출력하기 위한 RCA잭은 상기 전기전자기기의 일측에 설치된 3단자형 암 RCA잭과 상기 전기전자기기를 상호연결하기 위하여 3라인이 내설된 연결 케이블, 및 상기 연결케이블 양단에 설치되고 상기 3단자형 암 RCA잭과 연결접속되는 3단자형 수 RCA 잭을 구비하여 이루어진다. 이러한 본고안의 통신용 RCA잭은 종래의 RCA연결잭과 호환성을 유지하면서도 데이터 통신이 가능한 RCA연결잭을 제공하는 효과가 있는 것이다.

PURPOSE: A display apparatus having a display driving unit on a lower part is provided to prevent the exposure of a display driving element to a heat by placing the display driving element at the lower part thereof. CONSTITUTION: A signal processing unit(253) and a driving unit(231) are installed at a liquid crystal module(210). The signal processing unit performs video decoding, video scaling and high image quality conversion for an input video. In order to display a processed video on a liquid crystal panel, the driving unit drives the liquid crystal panel. The signal processing unit increases a frame rate of the inputted video 2N times for the conversion of the high quality image.

A semiconductor memory device and a data sensing method thereof are provided to improve reliability by increasing operation speed. A control logic circuit(110) controls overall operation of a semiconductor memory device(100) in response to an external command(CMD). A memory cell array(120) includes a plurality of blocks(BLK0-BLKi). Each block includes memory cells. A plurality of sensing amplifiers(SA0-SAi) senses data stored in the memory cell. A row decoder(130) selectively activates a word line in response to a row address(RA). An edge driver(140) generates sensing control signals in response to a block selection signal from the row decoder and a control signal(PS) from the control logic circuit. A column decoder(150) selects a bit line in response to a column address(CA). A voltage of the selected bit line is delivered to an input/output buffer(160). The input/output buffer outputs data corresponding to an inputted bit line voltage outside.

PURPOSE: A digital video signal receiver having selective outputting and amplifying functions for displaying input digital video signals is provided to display selectively plural digital video signals by using one amplification and conversion portion. CONSTITUTION: An interface portion(20) is formed with the first to the third interfaces(22,24,26) in order to receive digital video signals. A switching output portion(40) outputs selectively the digital video signals through the interface portion(20) in order to display the digital video signals on a screen. The switching output portion(40) is formed with the first to the third mute circuits(42,44,46). An amplification and conversion portion(50) amplifies the digital video signals to the digital video signals having predetermined level values or converts the digital video signals to analog video signals. A control portion(60) controls a switching operation of the switching output portion(40) and outputs the digital video signals or the analog video signals of the amplification and conversion portion(50) to a display portion.
