Abstract: PURPOSE: An information desk service method in a centralized exchange(CENTREX) is provided to have an economic information desk function in a cost and maintenance side of a CENTREX service. CONSTITUTION: An operator registers subscribers(20a,20b,20c,20d) as an information desk group for performing an information desk function using an MMC(Man Machine Communication). If the information desk function is activated by a user of an information desk group(20), a subscriber registered as the information desk group(20) performs a call change when calling the information desk and the third party conversation. If a general subscriber A(12a) of a CENTREX group(8) accesses an information desk access digit when all subscribers(20a,20b,20c,20d) of the information group(20) are activated, an exchange(6) distributes the call to the information desk subscriber(20a). The exchange(6) suitably distributes the call to the subscribers(20a,20b,20c,20d). If an information desk subscriber is on the telephone, the exchange(6) transmits the call to an information desk subscriber to be an idle state so that the information desk group(20) provides the information desk service.
