Abstract: 본 발명은 프리온 질병의 치료 및 예방에 효과를 갖는 레스베라트롤에 관한 것으로, 더욱 구체적으로 레스베라트롤(resveratrol)을 유효성분으로 함유하는 프리온 질병 치료 및 예방용 조성물에 관한 것이다.
본 발명에 따르면, 본 발명의 레스베라트롤은 신경세포를 보호하는 효과를 갖으며, 본 발명의 레스베라트롤을 신경세포에 처리하는 경우 신경세포의 서투인1(Sirtuin 1)의 발현 및 활성을 증가시켰으며, 프리온의 세포독성으로부터 신경세포를 보호함으로써 세포의 아팝토시스(apoptosis)를 억제시켰다. 따라서 본 발명의 레스베라트롤을 유효성분으로 함유하는 조성물은 프리온 질병 예방 및 치료용 조성물로써 인체로의 적용이 용이한 의약품으로써 실용화할 수 있으며, 축산동물로의 적용이 용이한 사료첨가제로써 개발 가능하다.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition and a veterinary composition containing HIF-1alpha agonist are provided to effectively suppress cell apoptosis and to enhance the expression of normal prion protein. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating prion diseases contains HIF-alpha agonist as an active ingredient. The composition is manufactured in the form for oral, parenteral, inhaling, or topical administration. The prion diseases include rachitis, Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease(CJD), deformation CJD, iatrogenesis CJD, familial CJD, and randomicity CJD. A veterinary composition for preventing and treating prion diseases contains the HIF-1alpha agonist as an active ingredient.
