Abstract:
PURPOSE: An ultraviolet light sensor based on an optical fiber lattice where an azobenzene polymer is coated and ultraviolet light detecting device using the same are provided to easily manufacture an ultraviolet detecting sensor by coating an azobenzene polymer on optical fiber where a fiber brag grating is formed and easily measure strength of ultraviolet lights. CONSTITUTION: An ultraviolet light sensor based on an optical fiber lattice where an azobenzene polymer is coated comprises optical fibers(10) and azobenzene polymer(20). The optical fibers comprise an optical fiber brag lattice. The azobenzene polymer is coated on the optical fibers. When the azobenzene polymer is exposed to the ultraviolet lights, the azobenzene polymer increases an optical fiber core lattice period by inducing a tension in the optical fibers, thereby moving center wavelength of the optical fiber brag lattice to a long wavelength.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: A temperature sensor using an MMF interferometer and a method of measuring the temperature of the sensor are provided to lower the manufacturing cost of a temperature sensor and enable accurate measuring of temperature since a temperature sensor with the same function can be manufactured using the MMF interferometer of TMF without FBG. CONSTITUTION: A temperature sensor using an MMF interferometer comprises a light source, a first MMF interferometer(150-1), a second MMF interferometer(150-2), a photo coupler(140) and an operation unit(180). The first interferometer is located on a target. The second interferometer is located on other places than the target. The photo coupler distributes light from the light source and transfers it to the first and second interferometers. The photo coupler couples lights reflected from the first and second interferometers. The operation unit calculates the temperature of the target based on the light output from the photo coupler.
