Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for providing local broadcasting and an apparatus thereof are provided to solve a dead zone by transmitting a broadcasting signal of data for local area broadcasting through a frequency band and a broadcasting signal of a mina broadcasting station. CONSTITUTION: A signal receiver(31) receives a first DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) TS(Transport Stream) of a main transmitting device. A local signal encoder(33) generates a local broadcasting stream by encoding a base stream. A remultiplexer(34) generates each first and second layer signals. A layer modulator(35) outputs a layer-modulated second DMB TS, and a transmitter(36) transmits the second DMB transmission stream.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A video service providing method in a digital multimedia broadcast system and a terminal thereof are provided to supply video service which is same as video service received through connection with a communication network in a terrestrial DMB system from service disconnection timing. CONSTITUTION: A broadcast reception unit(101) receives a first video transport stream from a broadcast system. A communications unit(103) receives a second video transport stream corresponding to identifier information and play time information from a network connection service system. If video service is cut, a control unit(106) transfers the identifier information and the play time information to the communications unit. Abstract: A transmission method and a reception method for a DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) system are provided to maximally guarantee inverse compatibility of a real service signal in a receiver by transmitting hierarchical modulation information without changing a transmission format of the service signal.
