Abstract: PURPOSE: A power transmission property evaluation system using a downscaled model and method for the same are provided to reduce the period and cost required for implementing the evaluating process of an electric environmental failure in a direct current power transmission line. CONSTITUTION: Small scale power transmission lines(31, 32) geometrically downscale a real power transmission line. A pole(10) supports the downscaled power transmission line. A varying unit(20) is in connection with the pole and vertically moves the downscaled power transmission line. A sensor(60) measures the electric field strength and the ion current density of the ground. A calculating unit(100) calculates the radius of a real power transmission line and the height of the real power transmission line with respect to the ground.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for acquiring substantial precipitation intensity of high voltage transmission lines is provided to enable an optimal design of transmission lines by accurately analyzing corona discharge generated by rain fall. CONSTITUTION: A method for acquiring substantial precipitation intensity of high voltage transmission lines comprises the steps of: (i) producing rainfall intensity according to the receiving of a tipping signal for a first time; and (ii) producing the rainfall intensity according to the receiving of the tipping signal for a second time. The (i) and (ii) steps collects the rainfall intensity based on the predetermined rainfall for the first tipping signal in an interval of first time.
