Abstract: An apparatus for eliminating duplication of a replicated file generates a hash key of a requested data block; checks if there is a data block same as the requested data block among data blocks of a replicated image file derived from a golden image file, which is same as the requested data block, by using the hash key of the requested data block; and records information of chunk storing the data block same as the requested data block to a layout of the data block if the same data block exists.
