Abstract: PURPOSE: A resonator for an exhaust system of a vehicle is provided to improve NVH performance inside the limited resonator by comprising an exhaust pipe with the pipes with various diameters. CONSTITUTION: A resonator for an exhaust system of a vehicle comprises a exhaust pipe(11) with a hole making the exhaust gas move freely. A stainless wool(12) and a glass wool(13) are laminated on the boundary surface of the exhaust pipe. An axial pipe(11a) and an extending pipe(11b) in which diameters are different are alternately and repetitively arranged in the exhaust pipe. The whole surface of the glass wool is laminated on the boundary face with the extending pipe. The stainless steel is laminated on a fixed section between the extending pipe and the glass wool. The diameter ratio of the axial pipe and extending pipe is 4:5.

Abstract: An exhaust noise reducing device of a vehicle is provided to reduce exhaust booming noise effectively by including glass wool inside a muffler and varying packing density of the glass wool. An exhaust noise reducing device of a vehicle comprises an assistant exhaust gas passage, glass wool(4) and a pressing plate(5). The assistant exhaust gas passage is formed between an exhaust pipe(2) mounted in the middle of muffler housing(1) and forming a main exhaust gas passage, and an inner circumference of the muffler housing. The glass wool is included in the assistant exhaust gas passage. The pressing plate is subject to pressure of exhaust gas flowed into the assistant exhaust gas passage, presses the glass wool, and varies packing density of the glass wool.
