Abstract: The system has at least one movement indicator (1) which controls, by wireless communication, an actuator (8) for controlling a light (9). On detection of movement, a command signal is generated to control the light, although there is also data transmission between the indicator and the actuator without previously detecting movement. A status telegram is generated by the movement indicator and sent to the actuator. If there is no command signal or status telegram within a predetermined period of time, this is interpreted as a function fault and is displayed by the actuator.

Abstract: The invention relates to an energy-saving sampling method and an electrical apparatus (1, 1'), particularly an electronic gas meter (1') or motion detector (1), for carrying out said method. The aim of the invention is to reduce power consumption (I) of the battery (105) in said method and apparatus (1, 1'). Said aim is achieved by sampling the test signal (100b, 101b) in a quasi continuous (13) manner by defining sampling time slots (14') during which sampling is done in an uninterrupted fashion while sampling gaps (14) during which no sampling is done are allowed between the sampling time slots (14'). Examples of embodiments include sampling gaps (14) at regular or random intervals, sampling gaps (14) with a variable duration and/or frequency and especially an increasing duration and/or frequency as the remaining service life of the battery decreases, and a lower sampling rate (f1, f2, f3) during the sampling time slots (14'), among others, resulting in an increased battery lifetime without substantially reducing test reliability.

Abstract: Method for measuring gas consumption using a gas meter, especially for measuring gas energy consumption, whereby the meter is suitable for measuring both a gas mass flow and energy consumption in that the meter determines the gas type and if it is incombustible calculates a mass flow in weight or volume units, liters per minute (l/min), while if it is combustible calculates consumption in energy units, kWh. An independent claim is made for a gas meter that functions as both a mass flowmeter and an energy meter, having a gas quality sensor with means for determining a gas parameter that is indicative of whether the gas is combustible or not. To determine the gas type its heat conductivity, heat capacity, diffusivity or viscosity are calculated, from which the gas mixture can be determined.
