Abstract: The method involves measuring an object shape distribution of a communications unit with integral antenna under investigation using a sensor for measuring a three-dimensional shape and measuring a scan distribution of complex interference data between a signal obtained with a scanning measurement antenna for measuring a two-dimensional distribution of an electromagnetic wave and a signal acquired with a measurement antenna, whose relative arrangement with respect to the measurement object is fixed, as a two-dimensional distribution of an electric or magnetic field, based on a movement with a predefined step size as a minimal movement unit. The superimposed distributions are displayed and a complex current distribution derived. The alignment capability is derived from the object shape distribution and complex current distribution. An Independent claim is also included for an method using the apparatus.

Abstract: The invention concerns a method of numerically reconstructing a radio hologram using fast Fourier transforms (FFTs) which involve fewer computations. Hologram measurement data V(R) is multiplied by a weighting function (S1) and a first fast Fourier transform (FFT) is performed on the result (S2). An antenna sensitivity inverse matrix is multiplied by an inverse propagation function (S4) for each segment of a segmented hologram reconstruction region, the result multiplied by a weighting function (S5), and a second FFT carried out (S6). The two FFT outputs are multiplied and an inverse fast Fourier transform (IFFT) performed (S8). Compensation is performed for the weighting functions (S9, S10) and a hologram reconstructed image obtained (S12). Also disclosed is a method of radio hologram observation which is carried out at two scan surfaces using horizontally and vertically polarized antennae at each scan surface (see figure 12).

Abstract: A hologram observation method capable of accurately estimating a three-dimensional wave source distribution even when a wave source is close to a hologram observation plane. The hologram observation is performed according to a two-frequency hologram observation method to reconstruct a hologram image. A three-dimensional wave source position is obtained from the reconstructed hologram image, a virtual unit wave source is disposed at the obtained wave source position and an observed wave is synthesized. A hologram image obtained from the synthesized observed wave is reconstructed, and a wave source intensity obtained from the measured hologram image is divided by a wave source intensity at the hologram image obtained from the synthesized observed wave, thereby obtaining a true complex amplitude of the wave source. An area having an intensity more than a predetermined value in the hologram image which is obtained from the synthesized observation wave is excluded from a search range, and each of the foregoing steps is executed.

Abstract: A signal received with scanning antenna (23) for every fixed antenna and signal received with fixed antenna (21), are made to interfere. This results in a complex scanning data matrix with which complex weighting addition process is performed to reproduce surface distribution of source of EM wave emission. Several fixed antennas (21) are positioned along different directions. The scanning antenna performs scanning of fixed antenna in predetermined path. Weight coefficient for every fixed antenna obtained from complex weighting addition process isolates electromagnetic wave emitted in same frequency band, from different sources. An Independent claim is also included for electromagnetic wave distribution visualization apparatus.
