Abstract: 2-Aminocycloalkanone oximes are produced by reacting, in an oxygen-free environment, hydroxylamine phosphate or hydroxylamine sulfate with anhydrous ammonia; removing the precipitated ammonium salt; adding ammonium chloride to the solution; maintaining the solution within a preselected temperature range while adding 2-chlorocycloalkanone; maintaining the desired temperature until the reaction is complete and isolating the oxime product.

An extrusion apparatus comprises a plurality of extrusion heads fed by a single rotatable and axially movable plasticizer screw and each head includes a mandrel having two relatively adjustable telescoped parts one of which is supported in the bore by a spider. In the first example, Fig. 2, the spider 39 supports the torpedo part 40 to which the regulating part 46, 48, 49 is screwed within a recess 43. A tool engaging recess 51 allows rotation of the part 46, 48, 49, the resulting axial movement altering the restriction 35. In a second example, Fig. 7, the torpedo part 75 supported by the spider 76 extends within a recess 80 in the regulating sleeve 87 screwed on a post 86 having a toolengaging recess 94. The head 88 of the post 86 is located in a recess in the part 75. In another similar example, the sleeve part telescopes within an extension sleeve of the torpedo part.
