Abstract:
A portable multifunction device displays a first widget on a touch screen and detects a first gesture on a settings icon on the first widget. In response to the first gesture, the device displays user-adjustable settings for a plurality of widgets, including settings for the first widget. The device detects one or more additional gestures to change one or more settings for one or more widgets in the plurality of widgets. In response to the additional gestures, the device changes one or more settings for other widgets, including changing one or more settings for a respective widget other than the first widget. Upon detecting a widget selection gesture and a finishing gesture on the touch screen, the device displays a second widget in the plurality of widgets other than the first widget.
Abstract:
An electronic device with a touch-sensitive display can obtain a plurality of alerts associated with dates and times. The device can detect a user input, and in response to the input display a notification interface. The notification interface can include a future notification representing a future alert with a date and time after the current date and time, and a past notification representing a past alert with a date and time before the current date and time. The future and past notifications can be separated by a graphical separator that has an indication of the current time. The future and past alerts correspond to different installed applications.
Abstract:
An electronic device with a display and a touch-sensitive surface displays a user interface with a plurality of content units, where the content units are arranged along a first axis in the user interface, and a respective content unit is associated with corresponding metadata. The device detects a contact on the touch-sensitive surface and a first movement of the contact. In response to detecting the first movement of the contact, the device moves a first set of one or more of the content units perpendicular to the first axis in the user interface in accordance with the first movement, and for one or more respective content units in the first set of content units, the device displays metadata for the respective content unit adjacent to the respective content unit that was not displayed immediately prior to detecting the first movement of the contact.
Abstract:
In one aspect of the invention, a computer-implemented method at a computing device with a touch screen display includes: displaying a first set of a first plurality of icons in a first area of the touch screen display, wherein the first plurality of icons includes a plurality of sets of icons that are separately displayed in the first area of the touch screen display; displaying a second plurality of icons in a second area on the touch screen display, wherein the second area is different from the first area; detecting a first finger gesture on the touch screen display; in response to detecting the first finger gesture, initiating a user interface reconfiguration process, and varying positions of one or more icons in the first set of the first plurality of icons about respective average positions.
Abstract:
In a computer- implemented method at least a portion of a structured electronic document (3912) comprising content (4002,4004) is displayed on a touch screen display (112) of a portable electronic device (100). A gesture (4028) is detected on an item of inline multimedia content (4002-1) in the displayed portion of the structured electronic document (3912). In response, the item of inline multimedia content (4002-1) on the touch screen display (112) is enlarged and display of other content (4002,4004) in the structured electronic document (3912) besides the enlarged item of inline multimedia content (4002-1) is ceased. A gesture (4026) on a play icon (4018) is detected. In response, the enlarged item of inline multimedia content (4002-1) is played.
Abstract:
A portable multifunction device displays a first user interface object and a second user interface object on a touch screen display. Upon detecting a finger-down event at the first user interface object and one or more finger-dragging events on the touch screen display, the device moves the first user interface object on the touch screen display along a path determined by the finger-dragging events until the first user interface object at least in part overlaps the second user interface object. Upon detecting a finger-up event at the second user interface object, the device visually replaces the second user interface object with the first user interface object.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to user interfaces for manipulating user interface objects. A device, including a display and a rotatable input mechanism, is described in relation to manipulating user interface objects. In some examples, the manipulation of the object is a scroll, zoom, or rotate of the object. In other examples, objects are selected in accordance with simulated magnetic properties.
Abstract:
A device with a touch-sensitive display and a battery can determine a battery level of the battery, and in accordance with a determination that the battery level is at or below a first threshold value, cause a haptic output and/or enter a low-power mode. While in low-power mode, the device may produce different outputs in response to user inputs than while in a normal power mode. In some embodiments, while in the low-power mode, the device may display only the time and an indication that the device is in a low-power mode.
Abstract:
Target electronic devices can be remotely controlled using a personal electronic device are disclosed. The personal electronic device can identify target devices that are responsive to remote control. The personal electronic device displays graphical user interface objects that, when selected, cause the personal electronic device to instruct the target electronic device to perform an operation.
Abstract:
An electronic device displays a first row, configured to move in a first direction, in a user interface that includes a plurality of representations of open applications. The device concurrently displays a second row, spaced apart from the first row. The second row includes a plurality of application icons corresponding to the representations of open applications. The device detects a first input that corresponds to movement of a respective representation of an open application, in a second direction different from the first direction. The device moves the respective representation out of the first row in the second direction in accordance with a progression of the first input. In accordance with a determination that application-close criteria have been met for the respective application, the device closes the respective application, ceases to display the respective representation in the first row, and ceases to display the corresponding application icon in the second row.
