Abstract: A device with a touch-sensitive surface and sensors to detect intensity of contacts with the touch-sensitive surface, displays a user interface object; detects a contact having an intensity above an object-selection threshold; and detects movement of the contact that corresponds to a preliminary portion of a gesture for performing an operation corresponding to the user interface object. The device detects a reduction in intensity of the contact below an object release threshold. In response to detecting the reduction in intensity below the object-release threshold: in accordance with a determination that the movement meets predefined operation performance criteria, the device performs the operation and generates a first tactile output and in accordance with a determination that the movement does not meet the predefined operation-performance criteria, the device forgoes performance of the operation and generates a second tactile output different from the first tactile output.

Abstract: An electronic device with a display, touch-sensitive surface and one or more sensors to detect intensity of contacts with the touch-sensitive surface displays a first user interface object and detects first movement of the contact that corresponds to movement of a focus selector toward the first user interface object. In response to detecting the first movement, the device moves the focus selector to the first user interface object; and determines an intensity of the contact. In response to detecting the second movement of the contact, when the contact meets selection criteria based on an intensity of the contact, the device moves the focus selector and the first user interface object; and when the contact does not meet the selection criteria, the device moves the focus selector without moving the first user interface object.

Abstract: An electronic device with a display and a touch - sensitive surface displays a first keyboard on the display, the first keyboard comprising a first plurality of keys. A key activation gesture at a first a first time is detected at a location on the touch - sensitive surface that corresponds to a location of a first key in the first keyboard. In response to detecting the key activation gesture at the first time, the first key is activated. One or more contacts on the touch - sensitive surface are detected at a second time after the first time, the one or more contacts corresponding to a keyboard selection gesture. In response to detecting the one or more contacts that correspond to the keyboard selection gesture at the second time after the first time, the first keyboard is replaced with a second keyboard when the second time exceeds a predefined period of time after the first time and the display of the first keyboard is maintained when the second time is less than the predefined period of time after the first time.
