Abstract: Techniques discussed herein can facilitate autonomous user equipment beam failure recovery abort aspects. One example aspect is a baseband processor configured to, when executing instructions stored in a memory, perform operations comprising: detecting a beam failure of a downlink (DL) beam; determining that a beam recovery abort condition is satisfied after detecting the beam failure; aborting a random access channel (RACH) transmission when the beam recovery abort condition is satisfied; and maintaining a connection with the DL beam after aborting the RACH transmission.

Abstract: When a user equipment (UE) encounters a radio link failure condition, the UE may transmit a radio link failure report to a network. The report may include information defining the radio link monitoring (RLM) resources of a current RLM configuration. The information may take the form of a resource bitmap or a list of resource identifiers/indices. The network may use the information (and radio resource management measurements) to determine whether the radio link failure occurred due to misconfiguration of RLM resources for the UE. In cases where the network does not provide RLM configuration, the UE may omit the bitmap (or list), or populate the bitmap with all zeros, or populate the bitmap (or list) according to a currently active Transmission Configuration Indication (TCI) state, which is indicated by downlink control information (DCI).

Abstract: An apparatus to be implemented in a user equipment (UE), the apparatus comprising hardware circuitry to activate a timer for transmitting a measurement report to a base station; output a filtered signal value from a measured signal using a first parameter; determine a trend in signal quality based on the first filtered signal value and a second filtered signal value based on a second parameter; or some processing of the values either from the first filter or from the received signal; and determine whether to deactivate the timer based on the trend in signal quality. The filtered signal can be generated using a first layer 3 filter using network-configured parameters and a second layer 3 filter using proprietary parameters. Processing of the values can also be done using proprietary parameters and techniques.
