Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable mediums are configured to perform operations including detecting a plurality of synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) that are transmitted for a physical broadcast channel (PBCH), each of the SSBs having a SSB index comprising a set of bit values; detecting, from the plurality of SSBs, a first SSB received at a first time and a second SSB received at a second time that is different from the first time; decoding, for a first SSB of the plurality, first bit values of a first SSB index representing the first SSB and of a second SSB index representing the second SSB; determining, based on the first time and the second time, a receive time gap between the first SSB and the second SSB; and determining, based on the receive time gap and the first bit values of the first SSB index and the second SSB index, at least a second bit value of the first second SSB index representing the first SSB and the second SSB representing the second SSB.

Abstract: Techniques discussed herein can facilitate enhanced radio resource management measurements for wireless technology including New Radio (NR). One example aspect is a baseband processor of a user equipment (UE), including one or more processors configured to receive a measurement link information state link information. The one or more processors are further configured to determine, from the measurement link information, a number of synchronization signal block based measurement timing configurations (SMTCs) (Y) per Rx beam of a number of receive (Rx) beams (N); generate at least one of a subset number of Rx beams (NUE) of the number of Rx beams based on the measurement link information, or an increased number of SMTCs (YUE) of the number of SMTCs corresponding to the number of Rx beams; and perform radio resource management (RRM) measurements according to one or more of the subset number of Rx beams or the increased number of SMTCs.

Abstract: Methods and systems to activate beams for beam switching based on measurements of a downlink reference signal that is QCL Type-D with a downlink pathloss reference signal are disclosed. A UE may measure and report to a base station the RSRP of the reference signal that is QCL Type-D with a target downlink pathloss reference signal. Based on the reported RSRP measurements, the base station may activate the target pathloss reference signal to command the UE to update the pathloss measurements of the target pathloss reference signal for uplink power control of a beam corresponding to the target pathloss reference signal. The UE may determine whether the target pathloss reference signal is considered known for uplink power control based on the timing relationship among the reception of the reference signal from the base station, the transmission of the RSRP measurement of the reference signal, and reception of the activation command.

Abstract: An electronic device may include wireless circuitry. The wireless circuitry may include one or more antenna arrays coupled to baseband processing circuitry by parallel radio-frequency signal (receive) chains. To more efficiently perform beam measurements, and thereby more efficiently determine cell status, beam measurements may be performed by the radio-frequency receive chains in a parallel manner. If desired, beam measurements for one or more inter-frequency and/or intra-frequency layers may each be parallelized. If desired, beam measurements during a discontinuous reception mode of operation may be parallelized.
