They may be prepared by reacting a N-m-trifluoromethylphenyl- N-α-methylether (or thioether, acyloxy or acylmercapto)-carbamoyl chloride of the formula with the appropriate amine of the formula The carbamoyl chloride (II) may be prepared by reacting N-m-trifluoromethylphenyl-N-chloromethyl carbamoyl chloride with the appropriate alcohol, mercaptan, carboxylic acid or thiocarboxylic acid. The compounds of the invention may be used as active ingredients in herbicidal compositions.
