Abstract: Prodn. of thiadiazolylmethoxy coumarin cpd. of formula (I) comprises reacting a coumarin cpd. of formula (II: R = COR6) with phosphorus pentasulphide under basic conditions. R1-R5 = H, Me or Et; R6 = H, 1-4C alkyl or 1-7C (sic) cycloalkyl. Cpds. of formula (II: R = COR6) and (II: R1 = Me or Et; R = H) are new.
