    Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain an evaporation suppressing agent for plant, containing an acetylene compound and phenylbenzylurea as active components, effective for suppressing the evaporation from plant by synergistic action and capable of preventing the damage of a plant caused by heat and dry stress. CONSTITUTION: This agent contains at least one kind of acetylene compound of the formula I [R is CH2 OH, COOH, CH2 OR (R is a 1-8C alkyl, a 2-8C alkoxyalkyl, phenyl, etc.), etc.; X is OR (R is a 1-8C alkyl); Y is OR (R is R ) or X and Y together form a substituted 2-5C alkyleneoxy, etc.] and at least one kind of phenylbenzylurea of the formula II (R is H, a 1-4C alkyl or alkoxy, phenyl, etc.; R to R are each H, a 1-4C alkyl or alkoxy, a halogen, phenyl, OH, etc.) as active components. The agent is sprayed or scattered on a plant or soil or used as a treating agent for the seed of a plant.
