    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoreceptor for electrophotography equipped with a surface protective layer in addition to a photoconductor layer, restraining the welt adhesion of toner and the formation of an image defect, and exhibiting higher relaiblity over a long term, and its efficient manufacturing method and an electrophotographic device using it. SOLUTION: After depositing a layer consisting of at least a non-single-crystal material as the photoconductor layer 102 on cylindrical base substance 101, processing to temporarily expose the surface of the deposited film to air pressure is performed. Then a layer consisting of at least a non-single-crystal material is deposited as the surface protective layer 103 on the surface of which such processing has been performed. Thus, the photoreceptor for electrophotography having a laminated structure, its manufacturing method and the electrophotographic apparatus using the photoreceptor as a light receiving member are provided.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an a-Si photoreceptor and an image forming device, in which deposition of a toner during cleaning is prevented and satisfactory image formation is performed, and particularly by using the histogram of the microscopic roughness of the a-Si film as new parameters. SOLUTION: An a-Si film is formed on a conductive substrate, having smaller than 9 nm for surface roughness Ra, preferably smaller than 6 nm in area of 10 μm×10 μm, so that the film is controlled to have 70 to 400 nm full width at half maximum(F.W.H.M), in the frequency distribution of the roughness height based on the deepest point of the roughness on the surface in an area of 10 μm×10 μm, and more preferably to 90 to 360 nm. As a result, the deposition of a toner which conventionally prevented this by roughening the substrate can be prevented easily and stably.
