Abstract: PURPOSE: To increase the number of digits for displaying characters expressing the information on communication without increasing cost by displaying the information on the communication while varying its display area per character. CONSTITUTION: After initialization, the font data of characters expressing the information on the communication are read from a ROM 3 and those font data are extended in a RAM 4 as image data. For this extension from the font data to the image data, the extension is performed so that images corresponding to those font data can be settled within the area shown by previously set font size data. The image data extended in the RAM 4 are applied to an LCD 30 and the LCD 30 displays the characters shown by the image data. When 'FI' is displayed, for example, the 'F' is displayed in the display area corresponding to full angle character width but 'I' is displayed in a display area narrower than the display area of 'F'. Therefore, any large gap is not generated between 'F' and 'I'.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To allow the user to easily implement proper operation without mistake by displaying a proper guidance picture relating to the operation of the processor onto a display device provided in the image processor unit. CONSTITUTION:The processor is made up of a CPU 2, a RAM 4, a read section and a image recording section or the like. The CPU 2 controls the operation of the entire device according to a program stored in a ROM 3. The RAM 4 is used for storing icon images and a work area for the CPU 2. The read section is made up of a CCD line sensor 11 and a read motor 12 or the like and used for reading an image. The image recording section consists of a recording head 20 and a recording motor 12 or the like and is used for recording a received image or a copy image. Through this constitution, a picture relating to a device guidance is inputted in advance and stored in the RAM 4 by using the CCD line sensor 11 and the read motor 12 and the user operates a key 29 to display the guidance image required for the operation among the images stored in the RAM 4 onto a display device 30.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To simplify the registration/update of a destination by displaying and selecting destination picture information. CONSTITUTION:When an original for destination being a name card is displayed on an LCD 27, the entire picture of the name card is read, and stored in a RAM 4. A destination FAX number is also stored in the dial information area of the RAM 4. When the destination number is stored in the past and only the belonging post of the person is changed, an automatic update processing is operated. That is, the newly read information is overwritten in the area of the PICT-MEN of the RAM 4 in which the same destination number is present. A parameter is initialized, and the registered destination picture information is displayed on the LCD 27. The memory content related to the destination picture information corresponding to the value of the PICT-MEN is instructed, and the picture display of the LCD 27 is switched based on the instruction. The content of the dial information area is loaded in a dial buffer by depressing a start key. Afterwards, a transmission processing is executed. Thus, the registration/update of the destination can be simplified.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency by transposing plural destinations in accordance with functions and successively sending stored picture data. CONSTITUTION:Destinations are transposed in accordance with color reception possibility/impossibility of destinations or the difference of resolution. The one-page portion of picture data which is hierarchically encoded by colors and is stored in a picture memory 6 is decoded up to the resolution of the original picture by a hierarchical encoding/decoding part 9, and decoded R, G, and B data are stored in the memory 6 again. The data array of broadcast transmission destinations set to a destination memory is separated into data for color receivers and data for black-and-white receivers, and contents of the destination memory are transposed. The same control is performed when data reception equipments having a high resolution (400dpi) and a low resolution (200dpi) exist together. The idle area of the memory brought about by this transposing operation is effectively used for dual access, timer transmission reservation, vicarious reception, etc. Thus, transmission of picture data adapted to destinations of broadcast transmission is efficiently executed.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the copy picture quality of a G3 facsimile equipment up to a level equal to the picture quality of a copying machine by performing the copying operations in an analog way independently of the image reading and recording operations of a facsimile. CONSTITUTION:A facsimile equipment contains both reading and recording system for the facsimile transmitting and copying operations. A CCD 20 reads the transmitted originals and receives the reflected light signal produced from an original irradiated by an illumination light source 42 via a half mirror and an optical system. The received image signal is converted into an optical signal by a recording head 21 and irradiates a photosensitive drum 43. Thus the optical signal is electrostatically recorded. In a copy mode, however, an original is set on a reciprocating original stage 41 of a reading part. Then the reflected light produced by the reciprocating motions of the original platen 41 directly irradiates the drum 43 via the half mirror and the optical system. Thus the complete facsimile recording is carried out. The analog light is sent to the drum 43 as it is and forms an image so that a copy image of high quality can be obtained with no notches caused.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption at the time of reading halftones by comparing the signal level obtained from each picture element and a constant reading slice level and performing a binarization according to the result. A LED array light source 37 is one for reading an original by the CCD 20 and a light source control circuit 36 controls the light quantity of the LED array light source 37 being related to picture elements. Namely, the light quantity of the LED of the LED array light source 37 is set by initializing parameters and successively driving relays. For instance, when one of the relays becomes active, the current from the power source is to flow the LED of the LED array light source 37. Then, the signal corresponding to lines is read from the CCD 20, the level of the signal and a constant slice level are compared, and a binarization is performed according to the comparison result.

Moreover, a display pattern of a lower level is transited by not moving a cursor to a key area of 'to higher level' but depressing the 'x' key. Furthermore, dialing as to a dial number included in a pattern displayed at present is executed by depressing a start key 45.
