Abstract:
Described herein are oral care compositions comprising an effective amount of aluminum chlorohydrate suspended in a carrier for preventing, reducing or inhibiting dentinal hypersensitivity, the aluminum chlorohydrate exhibiting a SEC chromatogram having a SEC Peak 4 to Peak 3 intensity ratio of at least 7 and a Peak 4 intensity greater than a Peak 5 intensity; and methods of using the same.
Abstract:
A shine guide is disclosed for use in evaluating dental surfaces. The shine guide includes a substrate having an upper surface; and a plurality of gloss sections arranged on the upper surface of the substrate, wherein each of the plurality of gloss sections has a unique reflectivity measured in gloss units. Also described is a method for evaluating shine of a dental surface and packaging for dentifrices incorporating a shine guide.
Abstract:
A method for indicating release of an antibacterial agent or for indicating an amount of time for cleansing skin with an aqueous cleansing composition comprising a surfactant and a zinc X halide complex, wherein X is an amino acid or trimethylglycine, wherein the method comprises washing skin with the cleansing composition and water for a time until the zinc X halide complex precipitates from the aqueous cleansing composition.
Abstract:
The invention provides a personal care composition for application to the skin which comprises a personal care composition for application to the skin or hair comprising a zinc X halide and a cosmetically acceptable base, wherein X is an amino acid or trimethylglycine. Methods of making and using the compositions are also provided. The zinc X halide is can be used to deliver zinc salts to block perspiration and provide antibacterial effects.
Abstract:
Described herein are methods of cleaning a tooth comprising administering a composition comprising a zinc amino acid halide complex to the oral cavity; and retaining the composition in the oral cavity for a time sufficient to form a precipitate.
