    Abstract: In an example embodiment, there is disclosed herein, an apparatus comprising an interface and location determination logic coupled with the interface. The location determination logic receives data representative of measured signal strengths for a wireless device from a plurality of receiving devices at known locations via the interface. The location determination logic determines an estimated location based on the measured signal strengths and a first transmit power for the wireless device. The location determination logic determines a revised transmit power for the wireless device based on the measured signal strengths from the plurality of devices at known locations and the estimated location. The location determination logic determines a revised estimated location based on the measured signal strengths and the revised transmit power for the wireless device.

    Abstract: A mid-packet detection technique is provided that detects a packet with periodic repetitions of a fixed duration at a point in time of the packet other than a start-of-packet pattern, e.g., a preamble, associated with the packet. The process performs packet detection without detecting a preamble and does not require carrier frequency recovery, timing recovery (synchronization) or channel estimation. In one embodiment, a doubly differential matched filter autocorrelation of the received signal is computed and used as a metric for packet detection when the preamble is not observed or to complement preamble detection. The metric is compared to a threshold to indicate detection of a packet.

    Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to simultaneous channel sounding on multiple MLO channels followed by determining phase and amplitude corrections based on channel impulse responses obtained on each MLO channel. The corrections are then used in subsequent extrapolation of channel sounding on one channel to another. In one aspect, a method includes transmitting, on each radio interface of a first multi-link device, a corresponding sounding probe to a second multi-link device; determining, by each radio interface of the first multi-link device, a corresponding channel impulse response based on the corresponding sound probe to yield a plurality of channel impulse responses; determining an offset between the plurality of channel impulse responses; and using the offset during a subsequent extrapolation of a sounding probe on one radio interface to a second radio interface of the first multi-link device.

    Abstract: Determining a location of a user device comprises a wireless system supported by wireless access points receiving signals from a user device. The wireless system estimates a location of the user device based on a coarse calculation based on an angle of arrival of the received signal and determines if the user device is in an area under a access point. If so, the wireless system performs a fine location calculation. The wireless system identifies received signal strength indicator values for the user device and uses the values and the calculated location of the user device to improve calibration of a received signal strength location model. If the system determines that the user is not in the area under the access point, the wireless system combines the coarse calculation location and a received signal strength determined location and estimates a location based on the combined calculations.
