Abstract: The present invention relates to an ophthalmic lens which characteristically comprises at least two concentric regions (110, 120) possessing diffractive components (110a, 110b...; 120a, 120b...) having differing phase profiles in order to utilise differing diffraction orders (n). The diffractive components (110a, 110b...; 120a, 120b...) can be formed from 3-D holograms or index holograms.
