Abstract: Axial flow safety valve for controlling the flow of water to be admitted into a washing machine. It is made up of an essentially tubular casing having a water inlet end and a water outlet end. An inlet valve assembly, having an obturator for controlling flow of water through the inlet end, is provided at that inlet end. Similarly, an outlet valve assembly, having an obturator, is-provided at the outlet end for controlling flow of water therethrough. A mobile assembly interconnects the obturators and is operative upon opening of the inlet valve of the inlet valve assembly, by flowing water, to allow for the passage of only a predetermined volume of water with the outlet valve assembly remaining in open position, and to cause closure of the outlet valve assembly when water flow through casing exceeds the aforesaid predetermined volume subsequent to an equipment of the washing machine becoming out of order.
