A device for gluing the tail end of a reel of wound web material including conveying means for moving the reel, unwinding means for unwinding the tail end of the web material, a dispenser of glue for applying the glue to the reel, and means for rewinding the tail end after the glue has been applied. The dispenser includes an upwardly oriented aperture from which the glue is dispensed and includes a container for the glue with the upwardly oriented aperture and a moving member positioned inside the container which is immersed in the glue contained in the container and moved towards the upwardly oriented aperture in order to dispense the glue to the reel as it rolls over the aperture.
Abstract:
An embossing and laminating machine comprising a first embossing cylinder with a surface provided with a first set of protuberances, a second embossing cylinder with a surface provided with a second set of protuberances, said two embossing cylinders forming a nip, and a first and a second pressure roller interacting with said first and second embossing cylinders respectively; and in which said sets of protuberances are made in such a way that in said nip some of said first set of protuberances coincide with some of said second set of protuberances, while other protuberances of said first set are out of phase with corresponding protuberances of said second set, wherein said embossing cylinders are mechanically connected by a transmission which does not keep the cylinders in phase and which causes slight relative slippage between said embossing cylinders.
Abstract:
The rewinding machine for the formation of logs (L) of web material (N) wound on a core (A), includes a first winder roller (15) around which the web material (N) is fed, and a second winder roller (17) forming, with the first winder roller, a nip (19) through which the core (A) and the web material (N) pass. A web material-severing device (43) cooperates with the first roller (15). Located upstream of the nip (19), with respect to the direction of movement of the web material (N), is a surface (33) defining, with the roller (15), a channel (39) into which the core (A) is inserted. A conveyor (47; 57; 67) introduces a core into the channel (39). The material-severing device (43) cooperates with the roller (15) along the channel (39) between the region of insertion of a new core and the nip (19).
Abstract:
A machine for producing tubes by winding into a spiral two or more overlapping and staggered strips of a ribbon-shaped material on a spindle, having a winding unit which winds into a spiral two or more overlapping and staggered strips of a ribbon-shaped material on the spindle and causes the tube formed from the material to advance continuously, and a cutting unit fitted with rotating tube cutters and provided with a reciprocating motion along the direction of advance of the tube to cut the tube into sections of predetermined length during the advance of the tube. The cutting unit is associated with members for driving the rotating cutters, which impart to the rotating cutters a rotary motion derived from the reciprocating motion of the cutting unit.
Abstract:
A device for the automatic exchange of a first reel on which a first web is wound with a second reel on which a second web is wound includes a pair of supports for the reels which are movable in a direction parallel to the axis of the reels. A first retaining member is fixed to each of the supports for the leading end of the second web, with each of the first retaining members being movable with the corresponding support between a lateral waiting position and a position of alignment with a second retaining member for the trailing end of the first web. The device also includes a pressure applicator to press the trailing end of the first web against the leading end of the second web to cause the webs to be joined, and a cutter to cut the first web to form the trailing end. An element which carries the second retaining member is movable to move the trailing end of the first web away from the support for the first web and each retaining member is associated with a bearing surface which the second retaining member is made to approach. The bearing surface is aligned with and disposed before the respective first retaining member with respect to a direction of advance of a web being unwound from a corresponding reel.
Abstract:
A device for gluing the tail end of a reel of wound web material, comprises: conveying means for moving the reel, unwinding means for unwinding the tail end of the web material, a dispenser of glue for applying the glue to the reel, and means for rewinding the tail end after the glue has been applied. Said dispenser includes an upwardly oriented aperture from which the glue is dispensed and includes a container for the glue with said upwardly oriented aperture and a moving member positioned inside said container which is immersed in the glue contained in the container and moved towards said upwardly oriented aperture in order to dispense the glue to the reel as it rolls over said aperture.
Abstract:
The apparatus for holding a log or long roll (L) of web material during the cutting thereof along a plane perpendicular to the log axis, includes: a plurality of clamping elements distributed in a circle around the log (L). The clamping elements can be moved so as to clamp the log during the cut and also to be released so as to allow the log to axially move between cuts. At least one actuator causes the movement of the clamping elements, and connectors which connect the clamping elements to one another to provide a simultaneous movement thereof by said actuator. Each clamping element pivots around an axis so as to cause clamping of the log. The connectors control the pivoting of said clamping elements.
Abstract:
The ply-bonding device for paper converting machines comprises a support 1,5 to which a movable unit 15 is pivoted. The movable unit is provided with a pressure wheel 19 which cooperates with a counter-roller 2, and a pressure means 31 which forces said wheel 19 against the counter-roller 2. The wheel 19 is resiliently supported on movable unit 15 and, during operation the position of the unit is defined by an abutment 37 on the support 1,5. (FIG. 1).
Abstract:
A cutter for tear-severing a web (N) driven around a rotating roller (10) wherein recesses (25) carried by the roller (10) cooperate cyclically with projections (23) external to the roller (10). The web material (N) is stretched beyond its breaking point between the recesses and projections (25, 23) when the projections (23) penetrate the recesses (25) without mutual contact. The tension in the web material (N) is caused by friction between the web material and the rotating roller (10).
