Abstract:
The invention relates to packing formed by a stack of plates comprising corrugations forming a succession of positive and negative ridges. Each ridge includes wings and each wing is formed by at least one band cut into one of the plates so that it remains solidly connected to the plate at at least one side, said band being deformed to create a hole that breaks the continuity of the surface of the plate. According to the invention, the direction of the ridges of one plate forms a non-zero angle in relation to the direction of the ridges of an adjacent plate. Each plate comprises at least one longitudinal zone parallel to one of the edges of the plate and the ridges in said zone do not include a hole, said zones being positioned such that the zones of two adjacent plates are disposed on top of one another to form at least one contact point between a positive ridge and a negative ridge of two adjacent plates.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a high-performance structured packing for a fluid contacting column. The packing is formed by a stack of plates comprising corrugations forming a succession of channels. The channels include wings and each wing is formed by at least one band cut into one of the plates so that it remains solidly connected to the plate on at least one side, said band being deformed to create a hole that breaks the continuity of the surface of the plate. According to the invention, the direction of the channels of one plate forms a non-zero angle in relation to the direction of the ridges of an adjacent plate. The lengths of the wings of one channel are different from those of a neighbouring channel.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a column for bringing a gas and a liquid into contact, comprising a gas supply conduit (2), a liquid supply conduit (4), at least one functional zone (6) comprising at least one element for bringing a gas and a liquid into contact, the functional zone (6) being arranged between the gas supply conduit (2) and the liquid supply conduit (4). The gas supply conduit (2) co-operates with a distribution zone (8) arranged between the gas supply conduit and the functional zone, the distribution zone (8) consisting of a lining, the height of which is selected in such a way that the gas emitted from the distribution zone circulates according to a local speed at the bed inlet section of the functional zone, that is between -50 % and +50 % of the average speed of the gas circulating in the column.
