Technologies for communicating with local components of a computing device include intercepting a name resolution request from a host application, resolving a hostname included in the name resolution request to obtain a network address assigned to a target destination of the network packet, and transmitting the network address to the host application in response to the name resolution request. Such technologies may also include receiving the network packet from the host application destined for the network address, determining, whether the target destination of the network packet includes a local component of the computing device based on the network address, and transmitting the network packet to the local component of the computing device via a platform network in response to the network packet being destined for the local component of the computing device.

Beispielsweise kann eine Basisstation eine Nachricht, die eine Vielzahl von benachbarten Basisstationen anzeigt, generieren und drahtlos übertragen. Diese Nachricht kann einen Indikator beinhalten, der einen oder mehr Wildcard-Werte aufweist. Durch den Einsatz von solchen Wildcard-Werten kann der Indikator Information bereitstellen, die der Vielzahl von benachbarten Basisstationen entspricht. Beispielsweise kann der Indikator eine Vielzahl von Basisstationsidentifi. Alternativ kann der Indikator eine Vielzahl von Präambel-Indexen anzeigen. Als eine weitere Alternative kann der Indikator eine Vielzahl von Trägerfrequenzen anzeigen. Durch den Einsatz solcher Techniken kann Mehraufwand eingespart werden, ohne beim Mobilitätsmanagement Mehrdeutigkeit zu verursachen.

A reduction in the overheads involved in transmitting a message to a mobile station in a wireless network environment comprising a plurality of neighboring base stations 102a-102g. A base station, 102c, generates and wirelessly transmits a message, e.g. neighbor list 120, to mobile station, 104e, that indicates a plurality of neighboring base stations, 102a, d, e, f and g. This message may include an indicator having one or more wildcard values (figures 3 and 4). Through the employment of such wildcard values, the indicator may provide information corresponding to the plurality of neighbouring base stations. The indicator may indicate a plurality of base station identifiers (BSI Ds), a plurality of preamble indices or a plurality of carrier frequencies. The message may also be a scanning command message. Through the employment of such techniques, overhead can be saved without causing ambiguity in mobility management. Suitable for a WiMAX, IEEE 802.16, wireless network environment.

A method and system of reducing false detection of control channel messages in a wireless communication system. This facilitates blind detection of control channel messages in the wireless communication network. In one embodiment of the invention, the control messages in the wireless communication system are randomized or scrambled to minimize or lower the probability of false detection of the control channel messages. The control channel message includes, but is not limited to, an Assignment Advanced Media Access Protocol (A-A-MAP) Information Element (IE) and the like. In one embodiment of the invention, the contents of the A-A-MAP IE are randomized or scrambled before encoding into A-A-MAP symbols.
