The present invention relates to an entropy encoding method comprising the following steps: updating probability information using the update information derived based on a bit stream received from an encoder; deriving a bin corresponding to the current codeword based on the updated probability information; and performing the inverse binarization of the derived bin to acquire a syntax element. According to the present invention, video-encoding/decoding efficiency may be improved.

The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for encoding and decoding an image by skip encoding. The image-encoding method by skip encoding, which performs intra-prediction, comprises: performing a filtering operation on the signal which is reconstructed prior to an encoding object signal in an encoding object image; using the filtered reconstructed signal to generate a prediction signal for the encoding object signal; setting the generated prediction signal as a reconstruction signal for the encoding object signal; and not encoding the residual signal which can be generated on the basis of the difference between the encoding object signal and the prediction signal, thereby performing skip encoding on the encoding object signal.

Disclosed are intra-predictive coding and decoding methods, and intra-predictive coding and decoding devices for performing the methods. According to the present invention, by performing intra-prediction on a current block using neighboring blocks which have been previously coded and then transmitted, overhead related to a bit of an intra-prediction mode is decreased, and thus compression rate can be enhanced.

The present invention relates to a video encoding/decoding method, and more particularly, to an error resilient loop filtering method, and a signaling method thereof. According to one embodiment of the present invention, provided is a video decoding method including: a step of determining whether a Constrained Intra Prediction (CIP) mode is used; a step of determining decoding parameters of blocks located on both sides of a boundary to be filtered; and a step of deciding whether an in-loop filter is applied to samples located on both sides of the boundary to be filtered, on the basis of the use/non-use of the CIP mode and the decoding parameters of the blocks located on both sides of the boundary to be filtered.

According to the present invention, an image encoding apparatus comprises: a motion prediction unit which derives motion information on a current block in the form of the motion information including L0 motion information and L1 motion information; a motion compensation unit which performs a motion compensation for the current block on the basis of at least one of the L0 motion information and L1 motion information so as to generate a prediction block corresponding to the current block; and a restoration block generating unit which generates a restoration block corresponding to the current block based on the prediction block. According to the present invention, image encoding efficiency can be improved.

The method for scanning a transform coefficient of the present invention comprises the steps of: determining a reference transform block for a block to be decoded; deriving a scanning map of the block to be decoded using scanning information of the reference transform block; and executing a reverse-scan on the transform coefficient of the block to be decoded using the derived scanning map. The present invention enhances image encoding/decoding efficiency.

The multi sample prediction method of the present invention comprises the steps of: determining a sample group consisting of a plurality of samples inside a decoding target block; determining a representative position corresponding to the sample group, inside the decoding target block; determining a representative prediction value for the sample group, on the basis of the determined representative position; and determining the determined representative prediction value as the final prediction value for each of the plurality of samples making up the sample group. The present invention enhances efficiency in encoding/decoding and reduces complexity thereof.

An intra prediction method according to the present invention comprises the following steps: deriving neighboring prediction mode information from a left neighboring prediction mode and a top neighboring prediction mode; deriving an intra prediction mode for a target unit to be decoded, using the derived neighboring prediction mode information; and performing intra prediction for the target unit to be decoded, based on the intra prediction mode. According to the present invention, video encoding/decoding efficiency may be improved.

Provided is a scalable video-decoding method based on multiple layers. The scalable video-decoding method according to the present invention comprises: a step of predicting first filter information of a video to be filtered using the information contained in an object layer and/or information contained in another layer, and generating second filter information in accordance with the prediction; and a step of filtering the video to be filtered using the second filter information. According to the present invention, the amount of information being transmitted is reduced, and video compression performance is improved.
