Abstract: Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for transmitting a broadcasting service capable of signaling non-real-time 3D broadcasting content. An apparatus for transmitting a broadcasting service includes: a non-real-time (NRT) content encoder encoding stereoscopic image content including a reference image and an additional image to generate an NRT stream; an NRT signaling information encoder generating NRT signaling information including at least one of a service map table (SMT) and a non-real-time-information table (NRT-IT) that correspond to the content; and a multiplexer multiplexing the NRT stream and the NRT signaling information and transmitting the multiplexed NRT stream and NRT signaling information to a receiving apparatus. Therefore, content can be provided even when the reference image and the additional image are encoded into the single file format in the dual stream type.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are a transmission apparatus and method and a reception apparatus and method for a program associated stereoscopic broadcasting service. The transmission apparatus includes: a real time stream encoder generating a real time stream by encoding a reference image; a non-real time (NRT) stream encoder generating an NRT stream based on an additional image; an image synchronization information generator generating a service signaling and image synchronization information (including an event information table (EIT) and a program map table (PMT)) stream for synchronizing the reference image and the additional image with each other based on 3D content synchronization information; and a re-multiplexer generating a program associated stereoscopic broadcasting stream by multiplexing the real time stream, the non-real time stream, and the service signaling and image synchronizing information stream.

Abstract: According to the present invention, a transmission apparatus and method and a reception method and apparatus for providing a 3D service are disclosed. The transmission method for providing the 3D service while making a reference image transmitted in real-time interwork with an additional image transmitted separately from the reference image includes a real-time reference image stream generating step of generating a real-time reference image stream based on the reference image and transmitting the generated real-time reference image stream to a receiving side in real-time and an additional image transmitting step of transmitting the additional image providing the 3D service in interworking with the reference image to the receiving side separately from the reference image stream, wherein the real-time reference image stream includes a linkage information, which is information relating to the additional image to be interworking with the reference image and synchronization information for synchronization with the reference image and the additional image and content.

Abstract: Provided are an apparatus and method of transmitting and receiving associated broadcasting contents based on a heterogeneous network. The transmission system generates a basic contents stream for basic contents configuring the broadcasting contents to transmit the basic contents stream to a terminal through a broadcasting network, generates an additional contents stream for additional contents associated with the basic contents to transmit the additional contents stream to the terminal through a communication network, and further transmits at least one of associated playing information on the basic contents and associated playing information on the additional contents to the terminal, and the reception terminal receives the basic contents stream, the additional contents stream, and the associated playing information and synchronize the basic contents and the additional contents with each other to play them, thereby playing the broadcasting contents in real time.

Abstract: Provided are a method and apparatus of synchronizing a reference picture and an additional picture of a real-time broadcasting program. The method includes: receiving an MPEG-2 transport stream (MPEG-2 TS) including a program level descriptor and an elementary stream (ES) level descriptor from a picture transmitting apparatus; loading an additional picture corresponding to a reference picture included in the elementary stream (ES) level descriptor from a memory provided in the picture receiving apparatus, based on file information regarding the reference picture; calculating a time difference between a current frame of the reference picture and a reference time stamp, based on the reference time stamp which is included in the program level descriptor and indicates a start time of a frame regarding the reference picture; synchronizing the frame regarding the reference picture and a frame regarding the additional picture by using the time difference; and providing a stereoscopic picture based on the synchronized frames regarding the reference picture and the additional picture. A stereoscopic video service can be stably provided.
