Abstract:
The present invention relates to a texture description method in frequency domains and a texture-based retrieval method using the same, in which image signals are converted into those in a frequency domain of Polar coordinate system. The texture description method in the frequency domain comprises: a first step of generating a frequency layout by partitioning the frequency domain into a set of feature channels; a second step of extracting the textu re feature values of the image from the respective feature channels; and a thir d step of constituting a texture descriptor of the image in a vector form usin g the texture feature values extracted from the respective feature channels of the frequency layout. According to the present invention, in a texture-based retrieval described in the frequency domain, a retrieval method capable of satisfying respective or all the retrieval conditions such as scale-, rotati on- and intensity-invariant retrieval of relevant texture images is provided. Also, a retrieval method of computing the rough scheme of texture to provide a browsing functionality in retrieving is provided.
Abstract:
A coding method of reducing interlayer redundancy using mition data of FGS(fine grain scalability) layer and device thereof are provided to extract a bitstream having changed scalability from a bitstream generated by using an FGS layer for interlayer motion prediction. A lower spatial layer of an original image is transformed and quantized(S1410). The motion of an upper spatial layer of the original image is predicted by using motion data of an FGS layer in the transformed and quantized lower spatial layer. The transformed and quantized lower spatial layer and the upper spatial layer are encoded. The motion data of the FGS layer is recovered(S1420). Interlayer motion prediction is performed by removing motion data of the upper spatial layer overlapping with the motion data of the recovered FGS layer(S1450).
