The invention relates to a method for monitoring an activity of a user controlling an operation of a conveyor system (100) with a remote control device (180), the method comprises: receiving (310) control data from the remote control device (180), the control data defining user input provided at least in accordance with time; comparing (320) the control data to a reference data; and setting (330), in accordance with a comparison between the control data and the reference data, a detection result to express one of the following: (i) a continuation of the operation of the conveyor system (100), (ii) a discontinuation of the operation of the conveyor system (100). The invention relates to a drive system (100) for driving an electric motor (110). The drive system (1009) comprises a drive control unit (120) and a frequency converter (130) comprising a speed controller (140). The drive control unit (120) is configured to: define a speed reference (210) of the electric motor (110); preset operating parameters of the speed controller (140) to provide a first response time of the speed controller (140), before a drive of the electric motor (110) is initiated; adjust at least one operating parameter of the speed controller (140) to provide a second response time of the speed controller (140), after the speed of the electric motor (110) reaches a constant speed, wherein the second response time is slower than the first response time; and readjust the at least one operating parameter of the speed controller (140) to provide the first response time, before a deceleration from the constant speed is initiated. The invention relates also to a method for controlling the drive system (100) for driving the electric motor (110).

Brake release sensors for an elevator can be replaced by an arrangement where- in the brake release is determined from the force caused by the brake. This is achieved by providing measuring device for measuring the weight of an elevator car between the brake and the motor body so that the weight of the elevator car is measured only when the brake is on.

The invention relates to an adjustment device (1) for controlling the electric drive (2) of an elevator in connection with a voltage reduction of the supplying network. The electric drive of an elevator comprises an electric motor (3) and a power supply apparatus (4) of the electric motor for adjusting the supply voltage of the electric motor. The adjustment device comprises means (5, 6, 7) for controlling the power supply apparatus (4) of the electric motor and also a speed regulator (8) for adjusting the speed of the electric motor. The adjustment device (1) is arranged to determine the output voltage (9) of the power supply apparatus of the electric motor in relation to the permitted maximum value of the output voltage, and the adjustment device (1) is arranged to interrupt the operation of the speed regulator (8) but to continue the operation of the power supply apparatus (4) of the electric motor when the output voltage (9) of the power supply apparatus of the electric motor reaches the permitted maximum value.

The invention relates to a method and to devices for starting up an electric drive (1) of an elevator. In the method a sensor (2) that detects the direction of movement of the elevator car is fitted into the elevator system, the elevator car (3) is brought into a state of movement, the direction of movement (5) of the elevator car (3) is detected from the measuring signal of the aforementioned sensor (2) that detects the direction of movement of the elevator car and also the drive direction (6) of the electric drive is connected in the control (4, 14) of the electric drive to the detected direction of movement (5) of the elevator car.

The invention presents a control arrangement of an electric motor (2) used with a frequency converter (1 ) as well as a method for controlling an electric motor used with a frequency converter. In the invention the frequency converter is fitted between the power source (3) and the electric motor (2). A rectifier (5, 18) that transmits the braking power of the motor is fitted to the intermediate circuit (8, 9) of the frequency converter. In the method according to the invention the intermediate circuit voltage (21) is regulated with a control (11) of the braking power according to the reference value (12) of intermediate circuit voltage.

The invention concerns a method and an apparatus for controlling a three-or-more-phase motor (2) driven by a frequency converter (1). In the method, a change-over switch (3) of the frequency converter is controlled to a continuously conducting state (12,24) and at the same time the phase voltages or phase currents of the other phases are controlled by switching the change-over switches (3) in those motor phases at a switching frequency substantially higher than the frequency of the fundamental wave of the phase voltage or phase current. The apparatus comprises in conjunction with the frequency converter (1) a number of change-over switches (3), at least one change-over switch for each motor phase (17). The change-over switches comprise controllable change-over contacts (4,13). The invention is related to a method of initiating a regenerative converter (1) for supplying electrical power to an electric motor (10) of a hoisting machine to drive an elevator car of an elevator system.
