Abstract: Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Reduktion mechanischer Schwingungen bei elektrooptischen Modulatoren (EOM) (1), insbesondere bei Modulatoren mit LiTa-Kristallen, wobei der EOM (1) über einen Treiber (2) mit pulsförmigem zeitlichem Spannungsverlauf angeregt wird, wobei die Anregung des EOM (1) mit modifizierten Rechtecksignalen oder Rechteckpulsen erfolgt, dergestalt, dass diese aufgrund eines besonderen Flankendesigns eine Anregung mechanischer Schwingungen des EOM (1) reduzieren oder vermeiden. Des Weiteren betrifft die Erfindung eine Anordnung zur Nutzung des erfindungsgemäßen Verfahrens.
