Abstract: Device for removing an ionic liquid from a two-phase mixture comprises a feed line (2) for the mixture arranged in the lower region of a cylindrical container (1), a first removal line (3) arranged in the lower region of the container for removing separated ionic liquid from the container and a second removal line (4) protruding into the container for removing the phase liberated from the ionic liquid from the container. The speed of the mixture can be adjusted so that it can be guided against the inner wall of the container at a rotational speed of 3-400 m/s. An independent claim is also included for a method for separating a two-phase mixture using the above device.
