    Abstract: Disclosed is a method for separating heavy hydrocarbons, in particular C6+ hydrocarbons and/or aromatic hydrocarbons, such as benzene, from a hydrocarbon-rich fraction to be liquefied, in particular from natural gas, the hydrocarbon-rich fraction (1) being pre-cooled (E1) prior to separation (T1) of the heavy hydrocarbons (7). One or a plurality of C5­ hydrocarbon-rich fractions (14, 15) are mixed into the hydrocarbon-rich fraction (1) prior to the pre-cooling (E1) thereof and/or into the separation column (T1) used for separating (T1) the heavy hydrocarbons (7) at least in such a quantity, preferably in liquid form, that freezing of the heavy hydrocarbons (7) to be separated is prevented.

    Abstract: The compressor is driven by energy liberated from combustion of a portion of the liquefied natural gas. An Independent claim is included for the corresponding plant. Preferred features: Evaporation of a proportion of the liquefied gas, is used to feed gas turbine combustion. The turbine has a generator to drive an electric motor which turns a compressor. A portion of the liquefied natural gas is preheated by heat exchange using an existing circulating flow of the natural gas liquefaction process. Preheating is derived from a side stream of a head product from the column separating heavy hydrocarbons from natural gas, or from a side stream associated with a subcooling circuit, or a side stream of the raw gas to be liquefied. Further heating methods include use of steam, hot oil or electricity. From a storage tank for liquefied natural gas, some liquid is pumped out, preheated and at about 30-50 bar, it is evaporated to form a fuel gas. This is then burned in the gas turbine.
