Abstract: PURPOSE:To allow long time storage of vegetables and convenience for putting in and taking out of the vegetables by providing a lid with moisture permeable film to a basket. CONSTITUTION:Cold air cooled by a chiller pipe 6 is circulated by natural convection function through cold air convection path 12, vent hole 11, cold air back off path 20, and vent hole 10, and cools vegetables 21 stores in a basket 8 indirectly from the outside surface of the basket and a lid 30 of the basket. The inside of the basket 8 and outside container 7 are kept high humid by steam transpirated from the stored vegetables 21. Steam over saturation humidity produced in the inside is gradually penetrated into the cold air back off path 20 in which low humid cold air flows through a moisture permeable film 16 on the surface of a lid 13 of the basket. Therefore, steam dews on the surface of the outside container 7 between the cold air back off path 20 and the cold air convection path 12, so that the inside of the basket 8 is free from dew drops, causing no damage to vegetables 21 due to water drops or being in contact with water.
