Abstract: A power tool supportable by a lanyard. The power tool includes a motor housing, a motor arranged in the motor housing, a front housing, an output member extending from the front housing, a gear case, and a gear train arranged in the gear case. The gear train configured to transfer torque from the motor to the output member. The power tool further includes a first fastener securing the front housing to the motor housing and a bracket to which the lanyard is attachable. The bracket is fastened to one of the front housing, the motor housing, or the gear case by a second fastener that does not secure the front housing to the motor housing.

Abstract: An impact tool including an electric motor, a housing containing the electric motor, a battery receptacle including a cylindrical damper pocket, and an isolation member disposed within the battery receptacle and configured to selectively receive a battery pack to electrically connect the battery pack to the electric motor. The isolation member including a damper post. An elastomeric damper is coupled to the damper post and received within the damper pocket. The elastomeric damper has a cylindrical shape coinciding with the cylindrical damper pocket, wherein during operation of the impact tool, the elastomeric damper attenuates relative motion between the damper post of the isolation member and the damper pocket of the battery receptacle in both axial and radial directions of the damper post which, in turn, attenuates vibration from being transmitted from the housing to the battery pack.

Abstract: A tool includes a housing, a drive assembly including an output shaft extending from the housing such that a tool element for performing work on a workpiece is attachable to the output shaft, and a bushing disposed within the housing. The bushing rotatably supports the output shaft. The bushing is impregnated with lubricant such that the bushing is self-lubricating, and the bushing has an impregnation ratio between about 5% and about 25%.

Abstract: An impact tool includes an electric motor and a housing containing the electric motor, the housing including a battery receptacle. The battery receptacle includes an isolation member configured to selectively and detachably couple to a battery pack to electrically connect the battery pack to the electric motor. The isolation member includes opposed rails configured to be received into sliding engagement with channels formed in the housing. The battery receptacle also includes an elastomeric damper supported within the housing. During operation of the impact tool, the isolation member is configured to translate relative to the housing and impact the elastomeric damper which, in turn, is configured to attenuate the transmission of vibration from the housing to the battery pack.

Abstract: A telescoping tool includes a pole assembly, a driveshaft, a plurality of bearings, and at least one connection member. The pole assembly includes an outer pole and an inner pole. The inner pole is slidably received in the outer pole. The pole assembly is movable between a retracted configuration and an extended configuration. The driveshaft extends longitudinally in the outer pole and the inner pole. Each bearing of the plurality of bearings includes a driveshaft passage defined therein. The driveshaft passage receives the driveshaft therethrough. Each bearing further includes an end connection passage defined therein. The at least one connection member joins adjacent bearings of the plurality of bearings. The at least one connection member is disposed in the end connection passage of each of the adjacent bearings.

Abstract: A rotary impact tool includes a housing, an electric motor, and a drive assembly for converting a continuous torque input from the motor to consecutive rotational impacts upon a workpiece of at least 900 ft-lbs of fastening torque. An anvil has a bore defining a hexagonal cross-sectional shape and having a nominal width of 7/16 inches. A hammer is rotationally and axially movable relative to the anvil for imparting the consecutive rotational impacts upon the anvil. A spring biases the hammer in an axial direction toward the anvil. A battery pack has a nominal voltage of at least 18 Volts and a nominal capacity of at least 5 Ah. The rotary impact tool has an overall weight including the battery pack that is less than or equal to 7.5 pounds. A ratio of the fastening torque to the overall weight is greater than or equal to 120 ft-lbs per pound.

Abstract: System for cooling a power tool. One exemplary power tool includes a housing including an air intake and an air exhaust. The power tool further includes a motor and a fan configured to pull cooling air into the housing through the air intake, and exhaust the cooling air out of the housing through the air exhaust. The power tool further includes a plurality of field-effect transistors (FETs). The FETs couple the stator coils to a power source. The power tool further includes a FET board within the housing. The power tool further includes a heat sink within the housing. The heat sink includes a first mounting portion and a second mounting portion. Each of the mounting portions includes a horizontal fin extending toward a respective side of the housing. A plurality of vertical fins extends from a top surface of each of the horizontal fins.
