Abstract:
A method of providing a multicast service announcement using a hypertext transfer protocol for sending a service announcement from an announcement server to at least one receiving node, the receiving node communicating only with said announcement server to access said service announcement. The announcement server periodically checks for said signaling message from said sending node. The said hypertext transfer protocol announcement is able to communicate with a real-time transport protocol associated with multimedia streams.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method of multicast streaming between two mobile networks forming a mobile ad-hoc network (MANET), each networks having a mobile device (201,211 ) and a router (202,212). The method comprises multicast streaming data from a sender device (201) through a sender router (202) without the presence of a recipient device (211); subscribing to a multicast stream by the recipient device (211) through a recipient router (212) without the presence of the sender device (201); establishing a connection between the sender router (202) and the recipient router (212); sending the subscription from the recipient device (211) to the sender device (201) once the two routers (202,212) are connected; and transmitting the data from the sender device (201) to the recipient device (211). The multicast streaming of the MANET is carried out without any multicast announcement. A multicast streaming system is also provided.
Abstract:
A method and a system for implementing a location based Internet Protocol (IP) addressing scheme for improving mobile IP hand-off process are disclosed. In one embodiment herein, location co-ordinates (101) of a mobile device on the globe are obtained. Each location co-ordinate (101) may have a degree unit (102a), a minute unit (102b), a second unit (102c) and at least one precision unit (102d). The co- ordinates (101) are converted into an IP-based numeric value, 'N' and then embedded inside an IP address to create a location based IP address for improving mobile IP hand-off rocess.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a system (100) and a method for facilitating mobile Internet Protocol (IP) communication. The system (100) comprises an IP address updating component (310) residing in a mobile destination terminal (30), an IP communication connecting component (320) residing in a transit terminal (20), an access requesting component (330) residing in a source terminal (10), and a session verifying component (340) residing in the mobile destination terminal. The system (100) and the method revolves around keeping track of the mobile destination terminal (30), keeping track of the communication session between the mobile destination terminal (30) and the source terminal (10). The system (100) and the method revolve around the authentication and mobility purposes.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a system and method for differentiating backhaul traffic of wireless network. Accordingly, the present invention aims at introducing a queuing, scheduling and de-multiplexing mechanism coupled with virtual interfaces to provide dedicated and prioritized connectivity to backhaul traffic for multi tired wireless network system.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method and system for use in providing multiple gateways within a network. A plurality of border routers (100, 200, and 300) is added preferably in between the mobile router (150) of the respective network and foreign routers so as to enable consistent connection. The border routers, among others are (100, 200, 300) suitably configured to serve as proxy advertisers for foreign routers (500), and to send out notifications with respect to their active or inactive status to the mobile router (150) of the network so as to enable the mobile router (150) to select the preeminent border router (100, 200, 300) for forwarding packets within the network.
Abstract:
A method of optimizing the quality of multicast services over a wireless network by dynamically controlling a broadcast rate, comprising: suppressing an automatic rate fallback protocol so that a broadcast data rate is not limited to the base data rate; transmitting a multicast data stream from an access point to a plurality of nodes; detecting if there is any data loss in the said multicast data stream; and lowering the data rate for each node incrementally if there is any data loss, until the data loss reaches an acceptable level or until the said minimum rate is reached, whichever happens first.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for use in a hand-off process between base stations, preferably Wifi/WiMAX base stations. The primary steps include arranging the subnet for each base station in a predetermined sequence and thus predicting the most possible subnet prefix of the network that a node would attach next. By way of predicting the care-of-addresses assigned by the new network, hand-off process can be expedited.
