    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanning probe apparatus having a wide range of application for scanning even in a depth direction, or the like, without enlarging the outer diameter of an optical scanning probe.
    SOLUTION: In the optical scanning probe 305, a balloon 353 to be expanded in a radius direction is connected to the tip end of a sheath 341 via a connection ring 349a. An elastic cylinder body 352 to be extended in a longitudinal direction so as to be freely movable is connected to the tip end via a connection ring 349b. A tip end frame body 351, incorporating an optical scanning optical system 350 for performing two-dimensional scanning in a direction orthogonally crossed with an optical axial direction, is connected to the tip end. Pressurized air 355 is supplied/discharged inside the connected body. Thus, optical scanning image information is obtained by moving the elastic cylinder body 352 in the longitudinal direction, so as to move the tip end frame body 351, and moving an observation point 326, so as to vary the depth direction of a subject.
