    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain aluminum nitride by a self-propagating superheating synthesis reaction on an industrial scale. SOLUTION: This method for producing aluminum nitride comprises nitriding metal aluminum powder having 10-250 μm average particle diameter in an nitrogen atmosphere under 2-30 atmospheric pressure. The amount of oxygen contained in the metal aluminum powder is 0.05-1 wt.%. The bulk density of the metal aluminum powder is >=0.85 g/cm3. The metal aluminum powder is made into a powder layer having 10-80 mm thickness and the powder layer is ignited at least one end of the powder layer to advance a self-propagating superheating synthesis reaction.

SOLUTION: Three methods are provided for easy breakage of the package, the methods comprising; (1) a method of forming a diagonal cut beforehand on the package material, (2) a method of attaching a material of small strip beforehand to the package so that the small strip forms a diagonal cut on the package, and (3) a method of attaching a diagonal band beforehand to the package.     Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a combustion synthesis reaction in a reaction system at a reaction temperature in which the combustion synthesis reaction is impossible and to produce a high purity inorganic compound by making a laser beam having a specified wavelength irradiate raw material powder and starting the combustion synthesis reaction of the inorganic compound in a reaction system at a specified temperature. SOLUTION: By making a laser beam 0.5-500 W in output and above 770 nm in wavelength irradiate raw material powder, the combustion synthesis reaction of an inorganic compound in a reaction system of 500-1,700 deg.C reaction temperature is started. In this way, the combustion synthesis reaction can be carried out at temperatures as low as 500-1,700 deg.C, and the fine powder of the compound with particle growth controlled can be obtained. Accordingly, the high purity inorganic compound can be produced, and costs can be reduced by omitting a pulverization process. The raw material powder is a mixture of at least two kinds of powdered solid elements or a mixture of at least one kind of powdered solid element and the powdered compound. The raw material powder and a gaseous raw material are subjected to the combustion synthesis reaction.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a container for packaging made of paperboard at low cost whose main body, formed as an angular sleeve, is not deformed after the forming, keeping the openings in shape as specified, and helps to ease the work of fitting the bottom lid in place and the handling of the lid when it is opened and closed. CONSTITUTION:A container for packaging consists of a main body 11 having the shape of an angular sleeve formed by rolling paperboard and fitting a bottom lid 13 over one end thereof and having a group of many longitudinally arranged grooves 4 in the inner side at each of the bent parts of the main body 11 and impregnated at the grooves with a synthetic resin 12 and having the resin in a cured state. To produce this container for packaging, paperboard 2 fed forward by a feeding roller 1 is cut in one side by cutters 3 to form longitudinally arranged grooves 4 for bending in a plurality of groups at required intervals; after the parts with the grooves have been impregnated with a liquid synthetic resin, the paperboard 2 is forwarded to a mold. While the curing of the liquid synthetic resin is in progress, the paperboard 2 is rolled into an angular sleeve and molded into the main body 11 having the shape of an angular sleeve with edges stuck to each other where they meet. A bottom lid 13 is fitted over one opening of the main body 11.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To synthesize silicon carbide powder with high energy efficiency in a short time by heating and exciting a part of the mixture of metallic silicon powder and carbon powder in a pressurized nitrogen-contg. atmosphere to cause a chemical chain reaction between the metallic silicon and carbon. CONSTITUTION:A part of the mixture of metallic silicon powder and carbon powder is heated, excited, and ignited in a pressurized nitrogen-contg. atmosphere to cause a chemical chain reaction between the metallic silicon and carbon, and the silicon carbide synthesis reaction is completed in a short time. By this process, preheating can be dispensed with, only a little energy is given for ignition, and silicon carbide powder can be efficiently synthesized at a low cost. In addition, the molar ratio of the metallic silicon powder to carbon powder is appropriately controlled to C/Si=0.9-1.5. The pressure of the nitrogen atmosphere is preferably adjusted to >=30atm.
