Abstract:
An extruder includes an extruder barrel module, an extruder feeder module, a screw motor module, and an electronics module. The extruder barrel module includes an axially extending barrel in which an extruder barrel screw is removably receivable. The extruder feeder module is removably connectable to the extruder barrel module, and has an axially extending flow passage having a feedstock outlet end and a screw motor module mounting end. The screw motor module is removably connectable to the extruder feeder module, and has a motor drivingly connectable with a screw in the flow passage of the extruder feeder module. The electronics module is electrically connectable with the screw motor module and mechanically removably mounted as part of the extruder.
Abstract:
A cyclone assembly for a surface cleaning apparatus has an openable lower end, a first cyclonic cleaning stage, a second cyclonic cleaning stage, and an airflow passage from the first cyclonic cleaning stage to the second cyclonic cleaning stage. The lower end is moveable to an open position in which at least a portion of the air flow passage is opened.
Abstract:
A cyclone assembly for a surface cleaning apparatus has a first cyclonic cleaning stage and a second cyclonic cleaning stage downstream from the first cyclonic cleaning stage. The first cyclonic cleaning stage has a first cyclonic stage air outlet and the second cyclonic cleaning stage has a plurality of second cyclonic stage cyclone air inlets and a second cyclonic stage air inlet end. The first cyclonic cleaning stage air outlet communicates directly with an annular flow region that extends around the second stage air inlet end of the second cyclonic stage.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for installing an expansion compensator having a longitudinal axis, and comprising first and second spaced apart ends, an expansion/contraction section located between the first and second spaced apart ends, a first connector provided at the first end, a second connector provided at the second end, and an installation guard operable to inhibit axial compression of the expansion/contraction section during installation. The expansion compensator may be installed by coupling the expansion compensator to a piping system, and after the expansion compensator has been coupled to the piping system, adjusting the installation guard to permit axial compression of the expansion/contraction section during operation of the piping system. The expansion compensator or a portion thereof such as the expansion compression section may have a first coefficient of thermal expansion along the longitudinal axis and a thermal compression guard, which may be the installation guard, may have a second, lower coefficient of thermal expansion along the longitudinal axis and the thermal compression guard may be operable to inhibit axial compression of the expansion/contraction section due to thermal contraction of the expansion compensator.
Abstract:
A surface cleaning apparatus has a cyclone assembly that comprises a cyclone and a dirt collection chamber exterior to the cyclone. The cyclone has a cyclone axis of rotation and the cyclone assembly has first and second opposed ends with sides extending between the first and second ends. The cyclone axis of rotation extends axially through the first and second ends and one of the sides is openable.
Abstract:
An HVAC system for a multi-unit building having a riser stack in flow communication with a single unit HVAC system. The single unit HVAC system has a first heat exchanger thermally connected to the riser stack, a second heat exchanger thermally connected to a fluid distribution system within the unit, and a closed loop fluid flow path extending between the first and second heat exchangers. The first heat exchanger exchanges heat between a riser stack fluid in the riser stack and the closed loop fluid in the closed loop fluid flow path and the second heat exchanger exchanges heat between the closed loop fluid and a distribution fluid of the fluid distribution system.
Abstract:
A surface cleaning apparatus includes a cyclone having a plurality of tangential air inlets. Each tangential air inlet is formed of a sidewall and an end wall. The tangential air inlet has an inlet port which is positioned to face a wall of the cyclone chamber. The tangential air inlets have a flow straightener provided on a radial inner or outer side.
Abstract:
A surface cleaning apparatus comprising a cyclone positioned in an air flow path. The cyclone has a cyclone chamber, a cyclone chamber inlet body provided at a cyclone chamber inlet end, a cyclone main body comprising an opposed end wall axially spaced apart from the cyclone chamber inlet end, and a plurality of cyclone chamber inlets provided at the cyclone chamber inlet end. The cyclone chamber inlet body comprises a cyclone chamber inlet end wall and a plurality of spaced apart sidewall portions extending around at least a portion of a radial outer perimeter of the cyclone chamber inlet body. The sidewall portions may have a radial thickness of 0.001 to 0.06 inches.
