Thus, a step of brazing the mesh filter 207 can be eliminated. In addition, the attachment of the mesh filter 207 takes place by a nipping method, whereby a stainless steel mesh filter 207 can be also attached, and thus an extremely fine mesh can be constituted.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric compressor for sufficiently making both compatible in security of oil separability and miniaturization.SOLUTION: This electric compressor includes a main vessel 1 incorporated with a compression mechanism part 3 and an electric motor 2, an oil feeding device 14 arranged on a sidewall of the main vessel, and a discharge sub-vessel 6 installed via a sealant on the sidewall of the main vessel so as to cover the oil feeding device. The discharge sub-vessel has an oil storage chamber 10 in a lower part, and an oil reserving chamber 23 in a substantially central part for supplying oil to the oil feeding device via an oil suction passage 21 from the oil storage chamber. The electric compressor is constituted so that at least one oil separating jet port 8 is arranged in an upper part of the sidewall of the main vessel, and an oil separating chamber 9 is provided in a position corresponding to the oil separating jet port in an upper part of the discharge sub-vessel. Thus, an external shape of the main vessel is miniaturized, and even if a space in the main vessel is small, refrigerant gas jetting from the oil separating jet port arranged in the discharge sub-vessel, collides with an inner wall of the discharge sub-vessel, oil in the refrigerant gas is efficiently separated, and both the miniaturization and the oil separability can be made compatible.
