Abstract:
The invention relates to a method, a device and a computer program product for tracking a movement of an object or of a person. Tracking the movement of a person or an object by means of electronic video frames is conventional but fails if the person of object experience a sudden significant change in its translational velocity. The suggested method comprises a first step of grabbing a sequence of digital video frames and thereby capturing the object or person. At the same time measurement values of a parameter are obtained, said measurement values being indicative for the movement of the object or person being tracked by the digital video frames. In the next step the video frames are processed by means of processing logic whereby the processing logic uses a block matching algorithm, said block matching algorithm defining a pixel block in a frame and searching for this pixel block within a search area within a next frame and whereby the location of the search area within the next frame is dynamically adapted on the basis of the measurement values. The invention provides the advantage that an electronic processing of digital video frames by means of a block matching algorithm can be carried out even in those cases in which there are large changes in the velocity of the tracked object or person.
Abstract:
System for analyzing physical exercise data The present invention concerns a system for analyzing physical exercise data, comprising: a database (1) comprising exercise data clips - an application (2) to access the exercise data clips and to annotate the exercise data clips according to pre-determined criteria a database (4) comprising schedule rules assigned to individual persons a scheduling application (6) to retrieve schedule rules and to select and arrange the annotated exercise data clips according to schedule rules - a playback system (7) to display the exercise data clips in the order as determined by the scheduling application (6).
Abstract:
A sensor arrangement for home rehabilitation in particular after a stroke comprising at least two sensors. The sensors are attached to the user´s body. Each sensor includes - a receiver for receiving a first signal being generated from a source outside the sensor 10 arrangement - a sensor processing unit processing the first signal and initializing a second signal upon reception of the first signal, the second signal including information regarding the identity of the sensor - a transmitter for transmitting the second signal to a central processing unit. 15 On receipt of the first and/or the second signal a time stamp is generated for each sensor for a determination of the location of each sensor relative to a source of the first signal trough comparison of the different time stamps.
Abstract:
The present invention concerns a switchable joint constraint system comprising at least one motion sensor, a joint constraint which is switchable between a mobile and an immobile state, a signal processing unit and a database. Motion sensor signals are compared to predefined situations. The joint constraint is switched according to whether predefined situations are met. The present invention furthermore concerns a process for handling sensor signals in such a system. The system may be used to support a constraint induced therapy (CIT) for the treatment of e. g. hemiplegy.
Abstract:
An assistance system for visually handicapped persons with visual impair in a part of their visual field aims at providing a technical solution for these persons, informing them actively about objects or movements in the visually impaired side, by way of body-worn sensors.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a health management system comprising a body or limb movement detecting means for detecting the movements and position of a users body or limb (s) in 3D space, a movement analyzing means for analyzing the data of the measurement carried out by the body or limb movement detecting means, wherein the body or limb movement detecting means comprises at least three sensors or markers for tracking a user's body or limb movement in 3D space by measuring an angle embedded by two body parts of the user which are connected to each other by a joint being the apex of the angle to be measured, at which one of the sensors or markers is provided. To detect the offset a change in distance between two neighboring sensors or markers indicates an offset of the sensor at the joint spaced apart from the apex.
Abstract:
The invention relates to the area of rehabilitation for patients with motor disabilities, especially for hemiplegic patients. With the present invention a long term, e.g. day and night, patient activity monitoring can be established in a home environment. A core idea of the invention is to evaluate the functional use of a limb by determining the synchronicity of the patient's movements depending on the movement's cyclicity. With this approach a reliable assessment of limb usage can be made based on the daily living activities of the patient. With the present invention the progress of rehabilitation can be monitored and guidance can be provided to therapists and patients about the state of the rehabilitation process. It further makes them aware of a lack of limb usage.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a positioning system for monitoring sensors or treatment devices which are to be accurately located on the skin of a patient, especially where professional assistance is unavailable, for example in a domestic environment. It comprises a positioning system for a patient monitoring sensor or treatment device with imaging means for detecting a texture or pattern on the skin of a patient to identify a sensor location, an image processing unit which is adapted to learn the required location of a sensor by storing the local texture or pattern, and means for guiding a user to reposition the sensor in the desired location by reference to the stored pattern.
