    Abstract: There is provided a cleaning robot including a light source module, an image sensor and a processor. The light source module projects a line pattern and a speckle pattern toward a moving direction. The image sensor captures an image of the line pattern and an image of the speckle pattern. The processor calculates one-dimensional depth information according to the image of the line pattern and calculates two-dimensional depth information according to the image of the speckle pattern.

    Abstract: An electronic system including a display device, an image sensor, a face detection engine, an eye detection engine and an eye protection engine is provided. The image sensor captures an image. The face detection engine recognizes a user face in the image. The eye detection engine recognizes user eyes in the image. The eye protection engine turns off the display device when the user eyes are recognized in the image but the user face is not recognized in the image.

    Abstract: There is provided an operating method of a distance measurement system including the steps of: successively capturing image frames with an image sensor; controlling a sampling parameter to converge an average brightness value of an object image in the image frames to be within a predetermined range; calculating a plurality of first object sizes of a converged object image in a converged image frame and calculating a first average value of the first object sizes; calculating a second average value of the first average values corresponding to a plurality of converged image frames; and comparing the second average value with a lookup table to determine an object depth.

    Abstract: An optical sensing system and an optical sensing method are provided. The system includes a bright-field light source, a dark-field light source, an optical detecting circuit, and a processing circuit. The processing circuit performs a floor type detection process, including: controlling the dark-field light source to provide dark-field illumination; receiving, by the optical detecting circuit, scattered lights of the dark-field light source; executing a dark-field computation process to obtain a first optical characteristic, and determining whether the first optical characteristic meets a first surface condition; in the negative, determining that a floor is a first type; in the affirmative, controlling the bright-field light source to provide bright-field illumination; receiving, by the optical detecting circuit, scattered lights of the bright-field light source; executing a bright-field computation process to obtain a second optical characteristic, and determining whether the second optical characteristic meets a second surface condition.

    Abstract: An optical sensing system and a method for eliminating misjudgment of a reflective light are provided. The optical sensing system includes a first light source, a second light source, a light sensor, and a processor. The processor is configured to: control the first light source to scan a horizontal detection area; control the light sensor to capture a first frame by receiving first reflective lights from the horizontal detection area; obtain a first reflection pattern, and analyze the first reflection pattern to determine whether an object is within the first portion; if so, control the second light source to scan a first vertical detection area; control the light sensor to capture a second frame from the first vertical detection area; process the second frame to obtain a second reflection pattern, and analyze the second reflection pattern to determine whether the object is detected by a misjudgment.

    Abstract: An imaging system includes a light source, an image sensor and a processing unit. The image sensor alternatively captures a first bright image, a first dark image, a second bright image and a second dark image, wherein the first bright image is captured with a first exposure time corresponding to activation of the light source within a first time interval, the first dark image is captured with the first exposure time corresponding to deactivation of the light source within the first time interval, the second bright image is captured with a second exposure time corresponding to activation of the light source within a second time interval, and the second dark image is captured with the second exposure time corresponding to deactivation of the light source within the second time interval, wherein the second exposure time is longer than the first exposure time. The processing unit adjusts the second exposure time according to an object image size in the second dark image, and controls the image sensor to stop capturing the first bright and dark images with the first exposure time when no object image is contained in the second dark image.
